Philosophy/Camp Overview

PHILOSOPHY:

Scoring goals is the final element to a game with many elements. A player that can take precious chances and put the ball in the net can make a difference in a game. No matter what has happened during a game it all comes down to who scores the most. The game's most valuable commodity is a GOAL SCORER! - Joey Barone, Camp Director

CAMP OVERVIEW:

goal1We focus on TECHNICAL preparation by concentrating on finishing of all types and with BOTH feet. Power & placement shots, headers, volleys, one-touch finishing, finishing with back to goal (one of the things that players have most difficulty with and a rare commodity in youth soccer), breakaways, and "goal-poaching".

barone_camps1Then, we apply the TACTICAL preparation to a tactical situation by creating a functional training environment that RECREATES the pressure of the game. Placing the player in small groups (3v.3; 4v.2) forces the player to get involved and take responsibility in finishing. We do not let players hide and just watch the game. We encourage shooting at every opportunity as we will give you the opportunity to score hundreds of goals.

Every player gains a new sense of confidence as they learn what it takes to become
soccer's most precious commodity - a GOAL SCORER!
